The month of February was spent remembering and celebrating the many accomplishments of African Americans throughout history. inHer GLAM wants to end this month highlighting contemporary romance author Brenda Jackson.
Brenda Jackson’s professional writing career started in 1994 with her first book Tonight and Forever; making her the first African American author to publish a book under the Harlequin/Silhouette Desire line of books. This book was the start of her very successful writing career as well as the introduction to the Madaris Family. Jackson has since published 81 books to date and counting and won numerous awards. She is also the first African American romance author to make the USA Today Bestsellers’ list and the New York Times Bestsellers’ list for the series romance genre. Jackson writes compelling, passion filled stories that keep the pages turning until the very end. Check out her official website to sign up for her monthly newsletter and keep up to date with her future releases. A Silken Thread, Jackson’s 81st book, released this month and is currently in bookstores.
A Silken Thread:
Convinced that her relationship can’t be salvaged, Erica ends her engagement. Yet she has lingering doubts over her decision, especially once Brian’s attractive single neighbor starts pursuing him. A chance meeting proves that the passion between Brian and Erica hasn’t dimmed—but neither has the determination of others to keep them apart, or the shocking lengths Karen will go to in order to undermine her daughter’s relationship.
As secrets old and new are revealed, Erica and Brian find themselves caught between the bonds of the past and an uncertain future, each making painful discoveries about who to believe and trust. Masterfully told and laced with the sensuality and drama that Brenda Jackson does best, this is an unforgettable story of relationships at their most complex, and how hard it can be to choose between living separate lives—or holding fast when love hangs by a silken thread….
inHer GLAM chose to highlight Brenda Jackson because her heroines are always strong, independent and family oriented. They think for themselves, express themselves in whatever relationship or situation they find themselves in and are a main structure in their family. Read any of Brenda Jackson’s books?
