What do you want in life? What do you want from life? What are you doing with your life? Where are you going in life?
We go through our day constantly thinking. There’s almost always something on our mind. ‘I have to do…’ ‘Don’t forget to…’ ‘I should’ve…’ ‘What if…’ ‘I don’t…’
“Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.”Proverbs 18:21 MSG
Let’s focus on ‘I don’t…’ ‘I need…’ We live in a fast paced society. Women play many roles: the student, teacher, mother, lover, comforter, provider and the list goes on. There’s so much more responsibility, so many roles, constantly changing… but the mind remains the same. What are you thinking? Reading this what’s going through your mind?
Not only are there so many roles, but there are even more distractions. That’s to be expected. With more responsibility comes more issues… or does it? In order to take control over your life, get where you want to go, be who you want to be; your mindset has to change. ‘I don’t…’ becomes ‘I have.’
We’ll break it down even further. You may not be in an ideal situation or be where you want to be financially. Remember, things are constantly changing in the unseen. In the seen you may have one slice of bread and sour cream in your refrigerator, not able to put food on the table because you have insufficient funds in your bank account. That situation is temporary and lasts for as long as you think and say it does.
“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18 NLT
Your situation won’t change until you not only change what you’re thinking, but say it as well.
“Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2a NIV
There is so much power in what you say, and once you grasp just how much power your words have, you’ll take control of not only your life, but your thoughts as well. The enemy doesn’t want you to win. He places distractions, negative thoughts and temptation in your path to throw you off course, off reaching your full potential.
“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” John 10:10 NLT
He knows how much power your words have, so he places thoughts of doubt, ‘I need…’ ‘I don’t…’ ‘Why me…’ and you begin to say what you’re thinking and eventually what you say becomes what you have and what you believe, because it’s now coming from your heart.
“Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts.” Proverbs 4:23 MSG
You may not see what you’re saying in the beginning, but speaking it into existence will pull it from the unseen. Look at Genesis when God first created the world. He spoke (Genesis 1:3-30) until he saw (Genesis 1:31).
To take back control you have to change your thoughts, which changes your heart and changes what you say. You have what you say, so say what you want; it’s that simple.
