“It’s Pumpkin Spice Latte season!” everyone seems to exclaim the day after Labor Day. Most are referring to Starbucks signature seasonal drink; an annual tradition now in its eigth year. Seemingly, every coffee shop, chain or local, seems to have its own version of the autumn cup of comfort. So it’s no surprise that time-honored chocolate companies have also started their own pumpkin spice tradition.
Every day, the Ghirardelli Ice Cream and Chocolate Shop on the Magnificent Mile (830 N. Michigan Ave. Chicago, Il) gives a free chocolate square to every individual who walks into the shop. For a limited time, they’re giving away the Milk and Pumpkin Spice Caramel Square and it’s heavenly. You must go and get your free sample!

The store offers the seasonal flavor in the 50 count gift bag for purchase, as well as various autumn and Halloween themed packaging. The Pumpkin Spice Caramel Cocoa is also available on their seasonal menu.
It’s always advised for you to visit the shop with the intentions of purchasing chocolate for your take-home pleasure or settling in to enjoy dessert from the old-fashion ice cream parlor (their World Famous, Hot-Fudge Sundae with home-made chocolate syrup satisfies any sweet tooth), but if you do decide to just stop in for the free sample after some Magnificent Mile shopping, remember to stay and browse for a few moments while you savor the bite. Then casually walk out and congratulate yourself; you have great will-power!
