This week, season 9 of Bravo’s Emmy-winning reality competition, Top Chef will premiere, and in true Texas-style, everything is bigger than ever. Here are 6 things you should know about the Lone Star studded season.
- The Judges’ Table will “Kick it up a notch” as television personality, Emeril Lagasse, and the eyebrow-raising Master Chef contestant, Hugh Acheson, joins Padma Lakshmi, Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons.
- Even the competition is bigger. A whopping 29 chefs — almost double the amount of chefs in seasons past will compete for one of 16 spots to tour Texas and compete for the title.
- This season’s chef-testants are acclaimed, established culinary visionaries from major U.S. cities, including a pair from the same Chicago restaurant, Moto. Talk about taking the Michael and Bryan sibling rivalry to the next level!
- The chef-testants will not compete in just one city. No, Texas always goes bigger. Expect to visit Austin, Dallas and San Antonio.
- What do Charlize Theron, Pee-wee Herman, Cat Cora, John Besh, Tim Love and Patti LaBelle have in common? They’ll all be guest judging this season!
- If your favorite chefs have to pack their knives early, they have a chance to return to the competition with the all-new online “Last Chance Kitchen” competition, where Top Chef fans will use their clicking power to vote for a winner.
Top Chef: Texas, Season 9 premieres Nov. 2 on Bravo at 10pm ET.
