Over the summer African Pride released new and new and improved formulas for their Olive Miracle and Shea Moisture Miracle lines. There were a lot to choose from, so I picked up an oil from the Shea Moisture line and the new and improved moisture cream from the Olive Miracle line. I have been using both for a few months now and thought it time to share my review on the two. Check it out below!
Olive Miracle Anti-breakage Formula
Claims that it helps stop breakage, split ends and dryness and daily use strengthens, moisturizes and conditions hair.
This stuff reminds me of a lighter version of a cream based product usually found in natural haircare lines. The consistency is light, but creamy and blended well into my hair without leaving residue. While it does not have that great of a hold, the moisture factor for my hair is amazing. Once applied my hair felt soft and moist without a weighed down feeling.
I would definitely recommend this product for moisturizing purposes only; like after a wash, during a nightly routine, etc. This product does not give much definition when used alone.
Shea Butter Miracle Moisture Intense Growth Oil
Claims that with regular use it helps strengthen hair deep inside, reduce breakage, dryness and split ends and hydrate dry hair, scalp and skin.
This product is pretty much your basic oil product. It’s great for hot oil treatments, shine and moisture. What I loved about this formula is that it’s very moisturizing, but a little goes a long way. I mainly used this product to seal or to give a braidout or puff a little shine. If you use too much this stuff will transfer to and stain clothing and white surfaces.
I highly recommend this product for use as a finisher, to seal and for shine. I have also used this oil on my skin and it worked great it as well!
I picked up both products from my local Walmart and they both retail for under $5. I think that these are both great products to use on kinky, curly hair for any budget, but particularly those with a tighter haircare budget (perfect for college ladies!).
