In the previous Glam & Fit post, we talked about workout wear essentials to help kick off the new year on the right (healthy) track. Staying on track and actually seeing great results starts with what you put in to your body. There are foods that you should consider eating more of throughout the day. These foods give you energy, help you say fuller longer and they even taste good! We picked four of our faves and included them below. We even included quick snack tips, check it out!

Apples

Who doesn’t love a crisp, sweet apple? Apples are great a great source of fiber. Fiber helps you feel fuller, longer which can even aid in weight loss. Snack tip: Cut your apples in wedges and carry in snack bags to eat alone or to dip in peanut or almond butter!

Oatmeal

Oatmeal is a great way to start the day. It’s packed with fiber and restraint starch, which is a carb that helps boost metabolism and burns fat. Snack tip: Really a breakfast tip, prepare plain rolled oats with a little non fat or soy milk and top with fresh fruits for a yummy start to your day!

Grapefruit

Grapefruit is a tangy, slightly bitter fruit made of mostly water that contains 15% of your daily fiber and protein. Snack tip: Slice up and eat alone or mixed with other fruits like strawberries or oranges. Even drizzle a little honey on top for a slightly sweet touch!

Almonds

These nuts are a healthy fat which will keep you fuller longer when eaten as a small snack between meals. Snack tip: Trail mix! Mix these yummy nuts with dried cranberries, raisins or other dried fruit of nuts for a power punched treat!
