BB Creams, or beauty balms, popped up in the US market under a lot of popular drugstore and higher end beauty lines all last year. If you noticed all of the BB Cream (and even CC cream) fuss and still refused to take part in the hype, this just might be the time to jump on this beauty bandwagon!
What’s a BB cream? A BB cream is a balm that moisturizes, tones, covers up blemishes, acts as a sun protectant and is packed with antioxidants and anti aging elements. So think of it as a tinted moisturizer, but with actual skin care benefits. A CC cream, or BB Cream 2.0, is short for a color corrector cream which is like an advance BB cream which provides even more skin care benefits.
If you’re looking to try out BB creams then there’s no time like the present to do it! Urban Decay recently launched their Naked Skin BB Cream which claims to be a universal shade for all skin tones. Although it may seem to be universal, as with a lot of other BB creams, it still may not work for women with darker skin tones. Iman Cosmetics has created a BB cream to tackle that issue. Iman’s Skin Tone Evener BB Cream comes in shades suitable for women of color and is available online at drugstore.com.
Urban Decay’s BB cream retails for $34 while Iman’s BB cream retails for $20. If these are a little out of your price range, there are a multitude of drugstore BB creams that you can also try!
