The celebs showed out in full force and surpassed my expectations for Oscar night red carpet fashion! This was by far one of the hardest carpets to choose best dressed looks from; I mean the ladies showed up snatched and not playing games. Of course we like to stick to our top five, which came down to the total look: accessories, makeup and the dress. Check out our picks below, along with the whys and be sure to check out Facebook for our Oscars Best Dressed and Honorable Mentions album.
Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior Haute Couture
Jennifer Lawrence has been a personal red carpet upset all season long, so I’m ecstatic to see her in something I actually love! The exaggerated and voluminous construction is gorgeous and her neutral makeup, pulled back chignon and small silver clutch enhance the look wonderfully. A small, delicate necklace definitely would have been a plus, but she’s definitely working it!
Zoe Saldana in Alexis Mabille Couture
When I first spotted Zoe Saldana in this I almost shouted and definitely would’ve slapped her if I’d seen her in person. Amazing! The intricate applique on the bodice, the multicolor tiered hem, the sparkling jewelry and even the belt (which at second glance I couldn’t decide if I liked) came together to make one luxuriously chic red carpet look!
Kelly Rowland in Donna Karan Atelier
Kelly Rowland has been bringing her A game this red carpet season! Last night she stepped out in an edgy black and white structured gown that we think totally worked for her. Although everyone seems to be over the thigh baring split; the simple accessories, the top knot and the shoes created a winning combo!
Halle Berry in Versace
Halle Berry is one who’s not afraid to take a risk and standout from the crowd. This striped sequin dress fit her to a T and she looked absolutely amazing! Again, she’s another celeb who rocked very simple accessories along with her signature short do and natural makeup. Love it!
Naomi Watts in Giorgio Armani
Naomi Watts has to have been one of my top, top, top favorites! She took the sparkly, metallic dress to a whole new level. In a custom Giorgio Armani dress, the detailing is what really makes this a winning look. She didn’t over do it with the accessories, her makeup doesn’t compete with the dress and she rocked her hair swept back.Definitely a memorable piece!
