The Makeup Show passed through Chicago setting a record with over 3500 attendees! I was only able to attend the first day, but I made it count. I stopped by almost all of the exhibitors and even got the deets on new products from some of my favorite companies which were featured on the site last year.
Mehron Cosmetics, known for their highly pigmented products, had a lot of new things this year. Their popular new products included their Glosstone PRO lip color, a moisturizing non-tacky gloss and Skin Prep PRO, a fragrance free liquid moisturizer.
Embryolisse, a new fave, was there this year with some new moisturizing products including Secret de Maquilleurs Elixir Eclat which plumps and brightens and a lightening serum for dark spots.
Inglot Cosmetics had their new line for summer Colour Play on display, which includes vibrant eyeliner and lipstick colors. I was actually able to see the collection at their store in New York City a couple of months ago. I did pick up the darker pink lipstick, number 98, at the show.
I stopped by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics and spotted their new Lip Tar Stained Gloss but wasn’t able to swatch many of the colors due to the steady crowd of people. I did receive one in a hot pink color called New Wave from the blogger preview, so I will definitely give it a try and let you know what I think.
Other than that, I picked up a face blender from Crown Brush and one of Stila’s new products for the season. I snagged one of their Countless Color Pigments in Acoustic, which is a pretty purple and pink three shade pigment that can be applied multiple ways.
Overall I really enjoyed the show this year! There was definitely a lot of people there during the first day, which is to be expected. I was only able to check out a couple of the seminars; Jill Glaser’s on summer and fall 2013 beauty trends and Eve Pearl who did a keynote on building a brand.
I have a lot of goodies to try out and review so look forward for that. Meanwhile, you can check out more photos from The Makeup Show here!
