Summer is officially a week away, our favorite fall/winter shows have ended and now there’s just a stretch of fun days ahead. For those nights when you might be home relaxing and want to watch a show or two, we’ve got your summer TV guide here!

While the summer TV lineup usually consist of multiple reality shows, we’re excited to see some decent dramas that will hopefully fill the void of our favorite shows. Not every show is perfect, or will keep you tuned in all season long, but they’re definitely worth giving a try!

Mondays

Hit The Floor

hit the floor

A new drama on VH1, Hit The Floor pulled us in with the first high intense, drama filled episode! A show about the journey of a Devils dancer who finds herself entangled in a web of lies, deceit and all out drama. This show has the perfect elements of a summer hit. So far there have been three episodes and they only keep getting better. Asha (Taylor Paige) is your girl next door fresh out of college girl who wants to follow in her mother Sloane’s (Kimberly Elise) footsteps and become a Devil dancer. She soon finds out it’s not all it’s stacked up to be as she endures constant struggles and drama with the Devils captain Jelena (Logan Brownings), finds out the identity of her father (Dean Cain) and tries to resist the temptation of cheating on her boyfriend (Jonathan ‘Lil J’ McDaniel) and falling for Devils basketball player Derek (McKinley Freeman). And all of this while the mystery of former Devil dancer Mia’s whereabouts are questioned throughout the season. There’s definitely enough drama and intrigue to last the entire season! Catch Hit The Floor Monday nights at 9/8c on VH1.

Mistresses

mistresses

From the preview Mistresses would not have made our summer TV list; it seemed to be about a group of women interested in money and married men. The first episode definitely proved that to be wrong. After two episodes, the show follows four friends who have to deal with some sort of infidelity in their lives. Savi (Alyssa Milano) is a married, career focused woman dealing with issues getting pregnant and the temptation of her co-worker Dominic (Jason George). Her younger sister, Josslyn (Jes Macallan), is free-spirited serial dater who is resistant to commitment. They’re mutual friend April is struggling with getting over her deceased husband while trying to raise their young daughter and date again only to find out a shocking, life changing secret. Then there is Karen, the therapist who committed malpractice by sleeping with her now deceased patient and prescribing high dosages of medication. It’s definitely a messy situation! Catch Mistresses Mondays at 10/9c on ABC.

Tuesdays

Pretty Little Liars

pretty little liars

Our fave guilty pleasure returned last week answering some questions from the very intense season finale. Pretty Little Liars has Aria (Lucy Hale), Spencer (Troian Bellisario), Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Emily (Shay Mitchell) teaming up with Mona (Janel Parrish) to try to figure the true identity of A (and we thought we were closing to figuring this out). The premiere episode answer quite a few questions from last season while creating even more (questions that is). Without spoiling it for you PLL lovers, know that someone is dead, Ali (Sasha Pieterse) may or may not be alive and we’re still not sure if we can 100% trust Mona. It’s going to be a crazy ride and I’m sure just a small snippet of what to expect this fall. Catch Pretty Little Liars Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC Family.

The Haves and the Have Nots

the haves and the have nots

Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots is definitely full of drama! The amount of secrecy, deceit and lies rolled into one hour is sure to keep you coming back every week for more. Centered around a law student/escort, Candace Young (Tika Sumpter), the show focuses on her blackmailing Jim Cryer (John Schneider ) who she slept with and who also happens to be her friend’s father. We also find out that her mother (Crystal Fox) is the Cryer family maid maid and that her brother (Tyler Lepley) went behind their mother’s back in relation to their house to help his sister Candace out. All of this along with Jim running for mayor and Candace threatening to go public with their relationship if she isn’t paid the money she requested has us heavily invested. Catch The Haves and the Have Nots Tuesday nights at 9/8c on OWN.

Wednesdays

Baby Daddy

baby daddy

The only way to break a week of drama is with some comic relief and Baby Daddy is brimming with it! Single father Ben (Jean-Luc Bilodeau) finds himself in some pretty sticky situations in which he has to turn to his brother Danny (Derek Theler) and best friend Tucker (Tahj Mowry) to try to get out of. All while raising his daughter Emma with a little help from his super hilarious mom Bonnie (Melissa Peterman). Mix in some sort of love triangle or square with him, his brother, their friend Riley (Chelsea Kane) and her new boyfriend and you’ve got a recipe for a pretty fab show. Catch Baby Daddy Wednesday nights at 8:30/7:30c on ABC Family.

Thursdays

Motive

motive

If you love solving crimes then ABC has you covered on Thursday nights! A twist on your average crime solving show, Motive puts a twist on it by revealing the victim and killer at the beginning of the episode. The duration of the episode is spent figuring out how and why the crime was committed, so you still get to do some problem solving. Angie Flynn (Kristin Lehman) the is good at her job and has an energy about her that shows she doesn’t take any crap. We’re still convinced that something did or is going on with here and her partner Oscar Vega (Louis Ferreira). Catch Motive Thursday nights on ABC at 9/8c.
