ThYck Troupe of Chicago, an organization founded by Tressa Thomas and featured on the site before, is looking for new members for the 2014-2015 performance roster! There will be 5 celebrity judges and the dates for entries run from now until August 10. Check out more details below!
ThYck Troupe Organization, NFP, a 501(c)3, performing arts company based in Chicago, IL , has launched its first “Triple Threat” YouTube Audition Campaign to add to its 2014-2015 performance roster. The organization embraces many forms of art, including acting, modeling, spoken word poetry, singing and comedy, just to name a few. Therefore “triple threat” artists are the most desired among the artists-in-residence.
The five celebrity judges participating in the YouTube audition series – beginning July 1, 2013 – are Comedienne Erica Watson (TV Guide, Dr. Phil), Hollywood Casting Director Howard Meltzer (Hannah Montana, Shake It Up!), Musical Director & Arranger Michael Orland (American Idol®), Chicago Casting Director/Producer Sharon King (Soul Food, Barbershop I & II) and 2012 RAW Musician Artist of the Year, ObiSoulStar (Soul Rockin’ Roller).
With such an impressive roster of entertainment professionals, aspiring talent are encouraged to bring their “A” game on the organization’s audition portal.
“We exist to promote and encourage diversity in the arts as it applies to reversing societal stigmas and combating media biases of the full-figured artist…. Talent, beauty and influence should not be limited to size,” says Founder & Artistic Director, Tressa Thomas.
Audition Do’s & Don’ts
Triple Threat artists that are interested in auditioning for the ThYck Troupe Organization have until August 10th to upload their video submissions and documentation via the organization’s website.
Celebrity judges will begin reviewing the “final round” of contenders beginning August 18th, and selected talent will be announced via YouTube and social media platforms on September 16th.
Applicants must be 18 years or old, residents of the Chicago, Milwaukee or Northwest Indiana areas, and women artists only, at this time.
