The 65th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards took place last night (September 22) in Los Angeles and I have to say a lot of celebs were on the same level style wise. It took a lot to really wow me and it was kind of difficult coming up with a top five that I could justify as being a legit top five. The trends of the night seemed to be all about fall. There were jewel tones, rich burgundy dress and even a few soft pastel dresses.
A lot of celebs would’ve made my Honorable Mentions list because quite a few looked great but had that one thing that just didn’t work. Like Zooey Deschanel who wore J. Mendal. It fit her to a T but the matchy, matchy accessories were not it. There were also a few sheer dresses and at first glance I liked Kristen Connolly in Nicholas Oakwell, but something about the color just seemed off like it needed to be a lighter shade.
So with all of that said, lets get to the top picks!
**Best Dressed!** Kerry Washington dazzled in Marchesa. I love the texture you get from the applique, the fitted bodice and the simple accessories. I also loved her makeup for the night; really feeling that natural, glam look.
Rose Byrne in Calvin Klein was one of the celebs who rocked a pastel look. This fit is perfect, I love the modest bare midriff and I love that she accessorized with metallic pieces.
Mindy Kaling in Jerome C. Rousseau was one of my two burgundy picks. The jeweled detailing near the bust compliments the baot neckline. The dress fits her very well and bulling her hair back was a great style decision.
I love to include a sheer look in the top picks and Julianne Hough in Jenny Packham was one of my faves. I like the sheer skirt with the faux bodice. I do think she could’ve added a couple of more accessory pieces, particularly on the neck.
Kaley Cuoco wore a gorgeous deep burgundy Vera Wang dress that encompassed a lot of what I personally like to see on the red carpet. I love the ruffles, the boning in the bodice with the sheer panels and of course the silhouette. She could’ve added a sparkling necklace, but since her hair is pulled forward of her shoulder it works.
