SPOILER ALERT! (stop reading if you don’t want to know what happens in this episode)
I just want to start by saying the Revenge writers are really stepping it up for this second half of the season. Again I was glued to the screen from the beginning to the end, and don’t get me started on next week’s promo. Before I get ahead of myself lets start from the beginning.
Nolan, incognito, pays Emily a visit in the hospital where they quickly reminisce and Emily tells Nolan that she’s giving up her mission for revenge. Aiden meets with Niko in the parking garage and tells her to keep an eye on Emily but not reveal that she’s helping her. Victoria pays Emily a visit and the nurse tells her that she’s recovering well and should be released soon, but she still doesn’t remember who shot her. Niko steps in and offers to be her at-home nurse.
Emily awakes in the Grayson’s house and panics because she doesn’t trust them. Niko reveals that she’s actually Takeda’s daughter and she’s there to help Emily. Charlotte sneaks Jack and baby Carl in to see Emily and he leave’s Carl’s stuffed god with her as a “keepsake”. Victoria tells Patrick that she’s hired someone to get the Infinity Box from Nolan’s house. Patrick insists he can get the box and then Victoria tells him that Daniel is actually the one who shot Emily. Patrick gets upset because he felt she didn’t trust him enough to tell him.
Niko overhears and tells Emily about their plan to get the box but Emily tells her that she has no plans for revenge anymore. Niko punches her in the stomach and tells her that she’s not the woman she thought she was and not to expect anymore help from her.
Meanwhile, Daniel is acting desperate and suspicious. He tries to force Margo to print the story about Lydia being the shooter. He shows up at the Stowaway to try to talk to Sara but gets punched by Jack. He then shows up at her house and tells her about how Emily faked her pregnancy, but conveniently leaves out that he shot her; even though that’s what Sara first suspected. Conrad even pays Emily a visit, telling her that once she remembers who shot her to come to him first.
The lowest blow of the episode happens when Victoria brings Emily a “late night treat” and tells her that the doctors told Daniel that due to where she was shot and the surgeries she would never be able to have children. She actually laughs in her face and tells her karma is pretty much a bitch. Emily demands she leave and has a breakdown, which is totally understood.
Patrick is at Nolan’s house trying to get him drunk. He “accidentally” pumps into Nolan which causes him to spill some of his drink. He goes to lick it off and realizes it’s water. Nolan claims he didn’t want to get too drunk given what’s transpired between them thus far. Patrick decides to knock him in the head and steal the box. He gives the box to Victoria and tells her that he only did it because he wants to know about his past and she’s running out of time.
Emily walks in on Victoria going through the box and we find out that the box was switched to make it seem like Emily had been obsessed with Daniel for years. Victoria threatens to expose who she really is. The next morning Emily calls a press conference and announces that she remembers who shot her and it was indeed Lydia.
We find out that Carl’s stuffed dog concealed a walkie talkie and Emily had been in communication with Nolan the entire time. Nolan asks her why she changed her mind about saying and she reveals that finding out about her infertility was the driving force. She meets Aiden on her porch and pretty much breaks up with him. Aiden goes running off to Niko, who’s father he did kill, and they sleep together.
We end with Emily laying down the law to Victoria and Daniel. She tells them she lied because she loves Daniel and she’s not giving up their marriage. Daniel calls her crazy, but Victoria agrees telling them that she lived in a loveless marriage for over twenty years and they can do it too.
Some takeaways…
– Can I just say again how much I’m loving the second half of the season so far. I really hope they keep it going with strong episodes. From next week’s preview it’s going to be amazing and I’m going to hate Daniel even more; Sara too, but I already highly dislike her.
– Jack kind of got thrown under the bus again when he went to Margo and told her that Daniel was the shooter but Emily told the media something totally different. I think he should’ve been included on their plans in some way because I’m tired of seeing him get consistently burned. Also, I’m tired of him being at odds with Emily.
– Charlotte has totally been redeeming herself after her complete downfall during the first half of the season. While her appearance this episode was short, she still seems to be the only Grayson who’s truly there for Emily.
– I so wanted Daniel to take the fall for shooting Emily, but Emily definitely has other plans. I’m pretty sure we’re going to see more of Niko and she will eventually find out that Aiden killed her father. Every Grayson, except for Charlotte, has a target on their back which means their complete take down is going to be a wonderful, intense filled ride… and I can’t wait!
