SPOILER ALERT! (stop reading if you don’t want to know what happens in this episode)
So is anyone else a tad bit confused after watching last night’s episode? Don’t get me wrong, I waited all week with high anticipation for this episode and they delivered. When I tell you that this season has done a complete 180 from the first part of the season I’m being a thousand percent serious. Enough rambling, let’s just start from the beginning.
We start with Emily waking up at Grayson Manor, alone in bed and bleeding. She calls Niko and pretty much demands that she fix the wound using a fire heated rod from the fireplace… (still didn’t really understand this part) She goes to meet with Victoria’s therapist and Victoria happens to still be there when he arrives and tells Emily that she doesn’t think it’s a good idea for him to see him. One of the maids tell Emily that Daniel has an important phone call and she goes to his room, which we find out they’ve been slipping in separate rooms on the opposite sides of the house, and opens the door to find a very smug Daniel and Sara in bed together. She tells him about the call then leaves.
Jack and Margo are taking a stroll with baby … all lovey dovey. They spot the new issue of Margo’s magazine on stands and Margo reads the article and finds unapproved information in the article about Daniel and Emily. She heads to the office where she meets Daniel who’s furious and wants whoever is responsible fired. Margo is then served with papers from Conrad who plans to sue the magazine for libel.
Nolan pays Patrick a visit at his gallery and turns over information about his biological father that he found out from when Victoria used him to track down Patrick. Patrick confronts Victoria about it and she insists that he stop looking for his father. Patrick pretty much ignores her and she takes him to his house. They sit outside in the car watching his biological father playing with is son but they don’t get out of the car; Patrick tells her about his life with his adoptive parents.
Emily finds Sara lounging by the pool and tries to convince her to leave, but she doesn’t and pretty much states that she’s there for the long run. Victoria confronts Daniel about Sara staying in his room and tells him that he should let her go because she’s only going to get hurt in the battle between him and Emily. Daniel refuses and goes up to Emily’s room where he tells her that he fired the entire house staff since someone decided to break their confidentiality agreement. He pretty much threatens Emily telling her that anytime anything out of the ordinary happens he’ll know it’s her and people will have to pay for her actions. Emily tells him that she just wants to figure out what made him stray in the first place since he strayed before he knew about the fake pregnancy and that she was just trying to win back his love.
Emily walks in on Conrad packing up and to leave Grayson Manor and apologizes for putting the blame on Lydia. He tells her that she ruined his one shot of happiness, and she tells him that she was trying to protect hers. He tells her that once she realizes there’s nothing to protect to come and find him at his hotel. Nolan pays Emily a visit about Aiden, because Niko has set up residence at his home. He lets it slip that Aiden and Niko are in a relationship not knowing that Emily didn’t know and Emily gets upset and goes inside.
She decides to take a swim and this is where it starts to get confusing. She’s swimming laps and then all of a sudden blacks out. When we return she’s fully clothed and at Nolan’s house. She doesn’t seem to know how she got there and Aiden appears repeatedly asking her if she’s alright. She comes to and quickly leaves saying she needs to get home, but after she reveals that she knows about him and Niko.
Victoria follows Patrick to a bar where she tries to get him to change his mind about his father to no avail. She gets up to leave and drops her clutch, as she reaches to get it someone else picks it up and she realizes it’s Patrick’s father. He tells her to ‘take it easy doll’ or something along those lines and she completely freaks out. Patrick helps her out of the bar and back at either his house or hers she reveals that his father, who she trusted and saw as an older brother figure, raped her when she was younger and stalked her which is why she had to put him up for adoption.
Nolan and Aiden devise a plan to get Niko out of the country and wrongfully pin her father’s murder on the guy who blew up the building that Declan died in. Aiden tells her he’s still alive and that she already has a plane ticket to Moscow, but he won’t be joining her. As she’s packing to leave, she goes to get her bag but it’s stuck under the bed. When she pulls out what her bag was caught on, it’s revealed that it was her father’s sword, the same sword that not only belonged to him but killed him.
Daniel and Sara are preparing to leave for Paris when her mother shows up, you know, because Emily called her. Her mother goes in on her, telling her she isn’t the Sara that she knows, she’s a home wrecker, she’ll never forgive Daniel for pretty much crushing her spine and demands that Sara pack up her ish and leave. Sara refuses and her mother disowns her right there telling her that she’s no longer her daughter (ouch). After missing their flight, Sara goes to Daniel and tells him that her mother is right and that she can’t be apart of this war between him and Emily. She tells him that Emily is never going to give up and that she’s leaving for good. I literally wanted to dance because I was OVER the Sara storyline and was happy that it ended tonight.
Daniel, upset, goes up to Emily’s room and confronts her. He throws her into the bed and pushes her face down telling her that there will never be a them. (Can we talk about the blatant domestic abuse going on here… I mean it’s Emily, but still). Emily tells him that he took something from her (her ability to have children) so she took something from him. He tells her that making her sterile was his gift to the world… Daniel you cold blooded S.O.B. He leaves and Emily passes out only to wake up in Conrad’s hotel room. Conrad tells Emily it’s been a pleasure and leaves as Emily lays in the bed confused and dressed in what looks like Conrad’s pajamas… I have no idea what’s going on.
Some takeaways…
– Daniel is an asshole. Like you freaking shot Emily and you expect anyone to feel sorry for you? Yea, I don’t and since he’s know included in Emily’s Revengenda it’s only going to get more crazy from here. I think this part of the storyline adds to the show and I’m excited to see just how Emily exacts her revenge on him, because he definitely has it coming.
– I wasn’t a big Patrick fan at first, but now I’m just confused. I’m not sure how he will fit into the storyline moving forward. With his storyline he pulls Victoria away from the revengy stuff and it kind of humanizes her. I don’t think it’ll last for that long, but after what we know about him so far I’m just unclear on the direction that they plan to go with this character moving forward.
– Niko knows that either Aiden or Emily killed her father. I would think that she would put the blame on Aiden since he did indeed kill her father, but I could see her possibly (there’s a very slight possibility) putting the blame on Emily and thinking that Aiden was trying to cover it up for her. We know that she’s jealous of the relationship that Emily had with her father and in the previews we see them fighting, so this storyline is about to get crazy because Niko is legit crazy.
– I love how devious Nolan has become. I still love his relationship with Emily, but I’m missing his relationship with Jack a little. As far as we know, Jack doesn’t know about Emily not being able to have children so he has no idea what she’s up to, in relation to the Graysons. I’m still not here for Margo but Jack seems to be “in love” and they’re moving in together. Not sure how that will play out once he finds out that Conrad now owns a part in the magazine since he bought out Daniel.
– Where is Charlotte at during all of this?
– Not sure what’s going on with Emily and these blackouts. I don’t know if she was drugged or what, but it’s a little confusing. Obviously it’s kind of along the lines of a split personality type of thing. When she blacks out she is acting as a completely different person because she’s ending up in different places, completely clothed but not sure how she got there. I want to see how this plays out, I’m a little scared because this is along the lines of the whole amnesia thing which thankfully they kept to one episode. Now, we have these unexplainable blackouts and all it really does is create confusion. Hopefully it’s cleared up quickly.
Revenge is going on another hiatus until March 9, screw you ABC. So this will be the final recap until then.
