Diggle has upped security on the Queens and Felicity. While on his stakeout he gets a text from his ex-wife turned girlfriend Lyla to meet at her place. While there they’re visited by Amanda Waller who asks them both to come into headquarters. She briefs them and tells them that Gholim Qaadir has a dangerous Neuro Agent in his possession and she needs Diggle to get a special team in to take care of the problem… enter the Suicide Squad (Deadshot, Bronze Tiger & Shrapnell).

While on they’re mission, everyone is in place and Diggle strategically bumps into Qaadir with Bronze Tiger posing as his “security”. Deadshot shoots Diggle’s jacket as a set up to make it seem as if Diggle has enemies. Everyone moves into the next phase of the mission but Shrapnell bolts. Ignoring orders to return he’s blown into pieces thanks to a bomb that’s been planted in his and everyone on the Suicide Squad’s head.

Preparing to attend Qaadir’s event, Diggle is upset about the guys having bombs in their heads. He tells Lyla he doesn’t know who she is anymore. Meanwhile he and Deadshot talk a little about Deadshot’s daughter Zoe and he tells him that he’s not the father she needs. They replicate Diggle’s fingerprint and Deadshot uses it to get into the party while Lyla poses as Diggle’s date.

Deadshot tracks the location of the Neuro Agent but quickly finds out it’s too big to carry out. He alerts Diggle and Lyla who alert Waller. She tells them to leave and go to their instructed location and instructs Bronze Tiger to head to where Deadshot is. She tells Diggle and Lyla that the Nines (Drone Strike) are headed that way. Lyla realizes that she knew the Neuro Agent was too big all along and in 10 minutes everyone at the party will be dead once the drones hit.

Diggle goes against instructions and tells the attendees that the Nerve Agent is under the dance floor, among other lies about Qaadir, and they quickly evacuate the house. Qaadir gets upset and tries to kill Lyla but he’s killed instantly by Bronze Tiger’s knife claw in his back. He tells them to head to the car and he goes to get Deadshot. Deadshot doesn’t want to leave because he wants to die doing something honorably and believes he has nothing to live for. Diggle tells him he has his daughter to live for.

He agrees and the escape only to find out that the drone is targeting the GPS signal embedded in Deadshots neck. Acting quickly, Lyla cuts it out and throws it out the window making the drone explode in the street. Upon return, Lyla and Diggle are both reprimanded and Waller, figuring out that Lyla took out the GPS, tells her that she plans to have the GPS put in the spinal cord.

Back in Starling City, Oliver is trying to locate Slade. He meets with Alexei Leonov to get his help with tracking Slade, but he’s met with a little resistance. He quickly shows Alexei that he has the upper man and his men now work for him. During his search, he goes to take care of a robbery and finds a mask with an arrow through the eye left behind by Slade.

Between his nightmares and paranoia, Oliver begins pushing Sara away. Sara turns to Laurel for some help and she tells her that he’ll come around. Oliver meets with … and gets a location for where Slade might be. As he’s leaving Sara shows up and tries to get him to talk to her. He tells her that he knows Slade is going to try to kill her because of him and that she should keep her distance.

While visiting her sister at Oliver and Thea’s bar, Laurel sees the obvious tension between Sara and Oliver. She talks to Oliver and tells him that pushing Sara away won’t solve his problems. Oliver goes to the location where Slade is supposed to be but finds Alexei dead with an arrow in the eye and a loop of Shado playing on a projection screen.

Feeling defeated, Oliver finally confides in Sara and tells her that he doesn’t know how to stop Slade; Slade is always a step ahead of him. Sara tells him that he can’t beat Slade by not letting anyone help him. She tells him that she will be by his side the entire way.

As Waller is returning to her office she finds Oliver there. He tells her that Slade is still alive and he needs her help to defeat him. She tells him they’ve been tracking someone who may be of great help and he’s goes by the alias Deathstroke.

Some takeaways…

– This was definitely a great episode, I have been waiting in anticipation for this episode and the introduction of the Suicide Squad. I’m pretty sure we’re going to see more of them in future episodes.

– I loved seeing more into Diggle’s past and how he and Lyla actually met. I really, really, really want to get some Felicity flashbacks. She’s the only one on Team Arrow who we don’t really have much background info on.

– Other than that, I’m patiently waiting to see this Slade and Oliver showdown, plus more Team Arrow action! Oh yea, and the Huntress returns next week!
