SPOILER ALERT! (stop reading if you don’t want to know what happens in this episode)
Part two of this three part finale was intense every single second and I loved it! This is like the best season ever… check out the recap below!
Back at the police station, Officer Lance is trying to stop one of the man, but he’s getting his ass kicked to. Something blows up and the man escapes. At the train station Thea is trying to run from one of the soldiers who’s trying to kill her. He gets her in a choke hold but he’s stopped by arrows. He reveals himself and it’s Malcolm Merlin.
Someone is in route to Felicity with the cure for the Mirakuru, but he’s stopped by one of the soldiers and his legs are broken. They decide to go to him, not knowing that Slade is tracking Felicity’s phone and sends a guy to retrieve the cure.
The District Attorney is freaking out but Sebastian tells her that everything is going to be okay, refusing the help of the National Guard. One of the soldiers comes into the building killing everyone and grabs the DA. Sebastian orders him to stop but he kills her anyway and tells him that he only takes orders from Slade.
Laurel is trying to get to safety but a soldier comes after her. She’s saved by Sara dressed as Black Canary and Laurel reveals that she knows who she really is.
The head detective has no clue what to do and the Chief of Police (the only other person besides the mayor who can call in the National Guard) is dead. Officer Lance tells him that Sebastian is behind this and that they’re going to need the help of the vigilante if they’re going to survive this. The detective agrees and puts him in charge while also giving him back his detective badge.
He calls Arrow while they’re in route to get the cure and tells him the the police are behind him all the way. He asks them to buy them sometime to retrieve the cure and he tells him they’ll try. As Oliver and team reach the bridge two soldiers come at them making Diggle flip the van. They’re badly bruised but they get out of the van before the soldiers reach them and Oliver blows up the van knocking them out (or killing them… but do they ever die).
Thea runs from Malcolm who tells her he returned after hearing about Moira’s death to make sure she was okay. Thea tells him that he’ll never be her father and she’ll never trust him. He tells her that he doesn’t expect her to but to trust him enough to help her in their current situation.
Sebastian confronts Slade about his staff being killed and Slade tells him that the city will be destroyed and only be a place for graves. Sebastian realizes that Slade only cares about himself. Laurel and Sara have a heart to heart because Sara believes that Laurel doesn’t know the real her and that she’s a killer.
Felicity calls the guy with the cure to locate where he is but someone gets to him first killing him and taking the cure. Oliver believes that they can’t win and tells Diggle to go get Roy. Felicity talks some much needed sense into him and tells him that he will save the city and he’s not alone.
Detective Lance calls Laurel and finds out that she’s with Sara. He tells them to stay where they are and he’ll come to them. While waiting they hear screaming. They run to a burning building and a lady is screaming that her daughter is in there. Detective Lance arrives but no one can get in the building because the flames are too harsh. They see someone coming out with the little girl and it’s Sara. She gives the girl to her father and disappears while Laurel and their father look on lovingly while Laurel tells the woman that her daughter was saved by the Canary.
The soldier brings Slade the Mirakuru cure and Sebastian gets a look in his eye like he’s about to turn on Slade. He calls Oliver and tells him that he wants to help him save the city. Oliver doesn’t trust him, but Sebastian tells him he should and that he has the cure.
Diggle brings Roy to Sara’s old lair and has Felicity stay with him while they go to meet Sebastian to get the cure. They get there and Sebastian gives a speech about why he wears the mask in relation to his father. He finally hands over the cure because he wants to help and tells Oliver that he’ll help put the city back together. Oliver tells him that after everything he’s done there’s no way he’ll remain the mayor. Sebastian threatens to reveal his true identity if he tells anyone he was behind the city’s destruction.
Back at the train station Thea still won’t go with Malcolm. He gets attacked by the soldier, but finally overtakes him proving that he’ll protect her. Back at Sebastian’s office, Isabel shows up and finds out that he returned the cure to Oliver. She calls Slade on speaker phone and Slade tells Sebastian goodbye right before Isabel puts a sword through his chest.
They go back to Roy and Oliver wants to test the cure on Roy first so they know for sure if it’ll work. Oliver can’t pull himself to do it. Felicity gets a call from Detective Lance telling her to turn on a TV. The news is saying the military is on their way to Starling City, but they don’t think it’s really the military. Oliver sees the footage and calls Amanda Waller, because he knows that those are her people.
She tells him that they’re going to level the city to contain Slade’s soldiers killing everyone. Oliver asks her for more time, but she gives him until dawn. He picks up the needle with the cure and injects Roy with it.
Meanwhile, back at the train station Malcolm tries to convince Thea that she still has someone, him. Thea picks up a gun and points it at him. He tells her that she’s his daughter and she’s all he has. He tries to go to her, but she shoots him twice.
Some takeaways…
– This was intense! Is Malcolm really dead this time? I want to say yes, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he wasn’t. Kind of cold blooded that his own daughter did him in.
– I’m pretty sure the cure is going to work on Roy which means he’ll be normal again (boo). Guess he won’t be part of Team Arrow, but I’m still holding out some form of hope. Side note, why did Sebastian not think that Slade would kill him for helping Oliver… naive much?
– The finale is going to be epic! It looks like Oliver is going to get some much needed help. I’m having mini palpitations waiting to see what happens. *jumps and screams like a giddy schoolgirl
