This past weekend I stopped by Standout Style Boutique in Lakeview to view designer Shontay Pinder’s collection. The pieces were classic, chic and perfect for summer! Some standout pieces were the signature jacket with the rosette detail and the sheer leopard bodysuit. Check out a few pics below and my short interview with the designer!
EL: So tell me a little about Passport.
SP: My brand is very chic, very simplistic. Something that you can incorporate into your wardrobe; whether it’s a jacket or a pencil skirt. I try to pick really good materials so that it lasts a long time; really focus on quality.
EL: Can you tell us a little bit about this collection that we’re going to see?
SP: This is really an all white, getting ready for summer time and laying out on a boat in Miami collection! So we’ve go a lot of cute short skirts, more sophisticated jackets and a lot of cute separates like rompers, jumpsuits, leotards – just about everything so you can mix and match.
EL: What would you say are the pieces that will be the standout pieces that everyone might migrate towards?
SP: That animal print and of course our signature jacket. I’ve been making this jacket for about three years now, so it’s not going anywhere.
EL: Who would you say is the Passport girl?
SP: She is very independant, very secure in her own skin and has her has her own style.
