SPOILER ALERT! (stop reading if you don’t want to know what happens in this episode)
They always leave us with more questions than answers and this episode was no different. Get into the drama in this recap below!
Jelena confronts Terrence about him not selling he restaurant. She then lets it slip that she has to go to the reading of Olivia’s will. She tells him about her trying to blackmail her because she knew that she had given him the drugs. He asks her who else knew, but she tells him she took care of it.
Jude tries to reach Oscar who’s overseas with no luck. He tells Lionel about Ahsha and Derek and she goes to Pete and tells him that they have to spin the story positively. She convinces him to let her help Ahsha out by getting the public to love her, making it impossible for Oscar to fire her since he’s under public scrutiny.
She takes the idea to Ahsha and Derek telling them that they have to come out as a serious, legit couple or Ahsha can pretty much kiss her career goodbye. They both agree to announce their relationship and then Lionel formally introduces herself as Pete’s wife.
Jelena shows a little emotion and opens up to Raquel on her feelings about Terrence and how much she misses him. It doesn’t last long, because she quickly shuts it down once Raquel tries to dig deeper.
Zero goes to German about changing the plays so that he gets the ball more than Derek and they can have a definite shot at a ring. German isn’t really comfortable with this proposition, but Zero asks him to look it over and if he’s wrong to forget he even asked. Ahsha shows up to give German a heads up about her going public with her and Derek’s relationship. German is obviously upset, but finally (at least I think) lets go and gives her her mail, telling her to change her mailing address for good.
Feeling apprehensive about Micheal’s true intentions, Sloane goes through his phone and finds text messages from someone telling him to get her to quit. She confronts him and he tells her that the league has reassigned him to a different city because this is becoming too dangerous. He tells her she needs to get out while she can, but Sloane is persistent and thinks she can find employee files in Oscar’s office.
Pete goes to Sloane about Ahsha and Derek and the charity event to get the girls there, not knowing that she doesn’t know about their relationship. Sloane gets upset and tells him that she needs to know about what’s going on with her team. She sends out a text to tell the girls to come to the event.
Jude goes to Raquel to invite her as his date to the charity event, but she tells him that she’s going with Pete. He tells her that he doesn’t understand why she’s still with him. He then tells her that right before Pete hit him he had a look in his eye which showed that he still has strong feelings for Sloane.
At the event, Jelena calls TMZ about why they haven’t posted the pictures and finds out that another website did a story with pictures on Ahsha and Derek. Raquel walks up to her and tells her that the event is where Ahsha and Derek planned to go public as a couple.
Ahsha charms the press with her story of how she and Derek met. Pete tells Derek that he knows all of the player moves and if he tries any on Ahsha or hurts her he’ll kill her. Jelena calls Terrence to get him to come to the charity event, telling him that they’re going to lose their spot as the power couple. She ends the call telling him that if he cared anything about her he’d show up.
Ahsha confronts Jelena about the TMZ story telling her she knows she was the one behind it. She tells her that Jelena didn’t count on people having her back and asks her who will have hers. Zero walks in the door and Jelena uses him as her arm piece for the night thinking that Terrence wasn’t coming, but he walks in as they’re taking pictures leaving her looking stupid.
Pete thanks Lionel for helping Ahsha out and tells her she did a great job. German shows up and gives Pete the new plays Zero had him look at, telling him that it’s not a personal vendetta against Derek. He tells him in the end, he wants to end the season with a ring.
Ahsha tells Derek that shes scared about publicly being his girlfriend, because he could break her. He tells her that it won’t happen and that they’ll have each others back no matter what.
Sloane goes to Oscar’s office to break into his files, but she’s caught by Raquel. Jelena goes to Olivia’s will reading and finds out that she left her ten percent share in the Devils to her mother Vanessa Howard. We end the episode with a slew of red envelopes with a letter reading “No more secrets”. Not only did Jelena receive one (which she shredded last episode), but Kyle, Jude and Derek received one as well. Who the f–k killed Olivia??
Some takeaways…
– Who didn’t see the Bo and Kyle thing coming. I knew a couple of episodes ago that he was into her. That’s all I’ll say about that storyline. I’m glad though that next week it looks like she’s getting tied back into the messiness of the Devils drama.
– I kind of had a suspicion that the scene of Jelena shredding her letter from Olivia was a setup. With more possible suspects in Olivia’s murder things should get interesting.
– I’m going to go out on a limb and say, for now, that Olivia’s killer is Jude. As of right now he’s the only one that makes sense and other the Jelena, he’s the only one out of the four who would gain from Olivia being dead.
