SPOILER ALERT! (stop reading if you don’t want to know what happens in this episode)
So this episode cleared a few things up for me… I finally know who my favorite person is and it ain’t Ahsha. Get into this week’s recap below!
Oscar gives Kyle an unlimited credit card to help with decorating for the Devils Roast. Pete goes to Lionel for help in crafting a speech for Derek during the Roast. She slyly sneaks in that they should go to the Roast together and he agrees.
Zero walks in on Jelena trying to find dirt on Sloane. She plans to spend all her free time finding something from Sloane’s wild past. Ahsha confronts Derek about his argument with German. She tries to tell him that German wouldn’t deliberately take him out of the game but Derek thinks she’s trying to stand up for him and they get into a slight argument before each going their separate way.
Derek’s mom shows up at his game to introduce him to her new boyfriend. She brags about how great he is but The Hayes/Davenports go out on the court to introduce Family Day with a slight hick up abut a great recovery that ends in a popcorn fight. Then the Devil Girls perform in fun circus type outfits with Jelena acting as the ringmaster.
Ahsha confides in Kyle aobut her issues with Derek since his mom showed up. HIs mom seems to be preoccupied with her phone more than with watching the game as they run the new plays that ends up with Zero getting the ball more.
Derek’s mom and her friend leave just before the final buzzer adn Derek sees. Derek feels like he looked bad but Terrence tells him that it’s not about how he looks; they’re a team and they just won by ten points.
Sloane notices a familiar name on the guest list for the Roast party that she saw in Mia’s files. She decides to attend to find out his connection to Oscar.
Zero tells Jelena that he talked to Pete about his party days and a very low moment that happened at a party. He tells her that the same person still owns the house and Hank loves to have company over.
Jelena and Zero go to Hank’s house to find out information about what happened at a party Sloane and Pete attended. She finds a photo of Sloane nude and in exchange for it Zero offers take take some nude photos.
Derek shows up at his house while he’s away and gives Ahsha a basketball to have him sign so she can sell it online. She then tells her that she won’t make the game and Ahsha tries to convince her to show up. She tells her that she’s a big part of his life and she seems to change her tune and asks what the dress code is.
Derek goes to German to apologize about his behavior and German tells him that the plays worked for Ohio. Derek puts two and two together realizing that the plays came from Zero.
Pete brings the footage from Family Night to Sloane and they watch it together. Things get a little heated and they kiss, but Sloane stops it before it goes to far.
At the Roast, Sloane sits with Grant (?) Wexel to get some dirt on Oscar. She finds out that Oscar has a burner phone and she thinks that she and Raquel should try to get their hands on it. Ahsha goes to German to try to apologize for Derek but he cuts her off and tells her to stop apologizing for him and to keep him out of her drama. He tells her that she’s sending mixed messages, they’re over and she needs to accept it.
Derek shows up at the Roast high off cocaine. The Devil Girls do a short dance intro and he sits down, obviously upset that his mother isn’t there but Ahsha assures him that she’ll be there.
Lionel goes to Pete thinking that things are on the up and up but he tells her that his feelings are still the same before looking at Sloane which totally gives him away.
Derek gets mad at Zero for laughing at a joke and goes in on him telling him that he’s only here to benefit himself. Zero starts quoting scriptures and Terrence steps in telling Derek that whatever issues he has with his mom he needs to handle alone and not take out on everyone else. Derek gets in Terrence’s face and Terrence pushes him back making him fall into a table. Derek gets pissed and leaves with Ahsha following behind.
Lionel takes her Pete’ a drank talk to Sloane telling her that he and Raquel broke up because he drove her son home drunk. Sloane then tells Pete that she made a mistake kissing him. During the slideshow of Derek as a kid Jelena and Zero slip in the naked photo of Sloane from that party during her Devil Girl days and we see that she has a band around her arm insinuating that she was taking drugs.
Derek is speeding away from the party when they get pulled over by the police. He puts his bag of cocaine in Ahsha’s bag and the police see it, ordering her to get out of the car.
Some takeaways…
– So my favorite person is officially German. He seems to be the most levelheaded one and tries his hardest to stay out of the drama. I was totally here for his monologue to Ahsha.
– Oh Jelena… I really want something to happen to her so she can stop trying to mess up everyone else’s life. I think she and Zero deserve each other. Speaking of Zero I am over him and his scriptures. He is the slimiest of them all and I can wait to get some dirt on his character.
– I really want to see how Ahsha is going to get out of this whole drug thing. As much as I may want to root for her and Derek to work, he obviously has a lot of demons to get rid of…
