I had the pleasure of meeting Peggy Arthur, the founder of Curl Kitchen. She also gave me a tour of the space and filled me in on all of the products they carry. When I tell you that Peggy knows what she’s talking about, she knows what she’s talking about. I learned a lot about various products, ingredients and even hair during my hour visit. As soon as you walk into Curl Kitchen you’re immediately immersed in a feeling of comfort and warmth. The space is open with those little touches that make you feel like you’re at home or at a close friend’s house. The intricate details and spacious setup makes it easy to navigate the shop. Peggy showed me everything they’re currently carrying. My personal favorite would have to be the yummy smelling products from B.A.S.K.
A former product junkie, Peggy found herself surrounded by tons and tons of haircare products. Because of this she’s been able to test countless products and only carries products she knows will work for curly hair. She tells everyone who enters that she’s tried 80-90% of the products in the store. Customers are able to go from cart to cart testing out the products as Peggy guides you through all of the pertinent information about the product and how it may work for your hair.
Peggy wants to make sure that everyone who walks into Curl Kitchen leaves with something– whether it’s a product or a piece of knowledge. Some of the products she carry include B.A.S.K., Jane Carter, Hydratherma Naturals, My Honey Child, Jessicurl, MopTop and more.
Throughout the summer following Mirror Mirror Mondays Curl Kitchen will host an event on Saturdays. I’ll be there talking about nutrition and fitness July 12 (more deets soon). Peggy is currently working on her own haircare line and hopes to turn Curl Kitchen into a franchise.
