SPOILER ALERT! (stop reading if you don’t want to know what happens in this episode)
The heat didn’t let up this week and some answers were revealed. It was a jam packed episode so let’s get into it shall we?
Oscar corners Kyle at the stadium telling her that he has a new job for her. She’s obviously been trying to avoid him but he tells her that this isn’t a job she’ll want to miss.
After a morning of intense romping, Zero reveals that he’s been with both men and women. He also tells him that he’s not a relationship kind of guy and he needs to focus on putting a rift between Derek and Terrence.
Raquel tells Sloane about her involving Kyle and Kyle conveniently appears. Not seeing a way around it, they try to come up with a plan to see how they can figure out where Oscar got the money from and what exactly Mia was talking about.
Pete goes to Lionel’s house to tell her he gave the divorce papers to her lawyer. Lionel acts calm and tells him that he didn’t have to come to her house to tell her that. He tells her that he just wanted to do it in person before leaving her sitting on her deck.
Jelena goes to Sloane to tell her that she’ll be off the clock the next day, not revealing that she promised to go with Terrence to his doctor’s appointment. Sloane decides to move the practice for the final dance of the season to the next day and Jelena tells her they don’t move practices. Sloane tells her that she should worry more about practice instead of fishing around other people’s pasts.
Kendall, the reporter girl, runs into German and tries to get dirt on Ahsha and Derek’s breakup. He tells her no comment while revealing that he and Ahsha used to date. She threatens to make him apart of the love triangle and he tells her that he’ll talk to her the following day.
The girls perform to see whose dance they’ll perform for the playoff game. They decide to go with Ahsha’s routine. Meanwhile Lionel asks Jude to take her to the dinner. She asks him if he’s in a relationship and he answers that he is referring to them as ‘they’. She puts two and two together and realizes he’s messing around with a guy. She then tells him that he’s the perfect date because he won’t try to get her into bed.
At the doctor’s appointment, the doctor tries to convince Terrence that he needs to have surgery now and then it will only be a six month recovery. Jelena steps in and tells the doctor to come up with another plan that will take him into the post season and then he can operate. The doctor reluctantly obliges and she tells Terrence that he needs to tell Derek so that he can cover him on the court.
Sloane breaks into Olivia’s house to snoop for information tying Mia’s medical examiner to Oscar. While there Chase walks in on her telling her that he wishes she hadn’t come there. She asks him how he got out of jail and he tells her that the search warrant on his car was inadmissible so he was released. She asks him to help her find a connection between Oscar and the medical examiner who handled Mia’s death. He tells her that he doesn’t know anything, but gives her his key to his storage locker to look through for herself.
She tells him that the Chase she knew would have stayed and helped bring Oscar down. She asks him what he has over him and he tells her that he raped Mia and that’s what sent her to Oscar and eventually running away from him.
Terrence tells Derek about his leg and Derek tells him that he has his back. Jelena returns to practice and Sloane tells her that she can either get with the routine that they’re performing or sit out.
German takes Kendall to the high school where he used to coach and she pushes for answers. He tells her that for every basket she makes he’ll give her answers. He tells her that he knows she only approached him for gossip which she knew he’d never give her. She tells him it was never about gossip, but about him and then they kiss.
At practice, Pete notices that they’re dragging on the plays and stops them. Derek sticks up for Terrence and tells Pete that it’s his back, so Pete ends practice and tells him to go get it looked at. Terrence thanks him and Derek tells him that he’s go his back all the while Zero is lurking in the background.
At the playoff game the girls perform Ahsha’s choreographed routine to Jason Derulo’s ‘Talk Dirty To Me’. In the final seconds of the game Terrence get’s a breakaway and passes it to Derek who makes the winning shot sending them to the finals.
Oscar meets with Lionel to tell her that he’s taking away her seat at the games. He then propositions her and tells her that he finds her attractive and they can keep it secret because secrets turn him on (gross). Lionel turns him down and he tells her that she’ll be back.
Sloane finds a paper listing gambling listings in Chase’s storage locker proving corruption. She calls and tells Raquel and asks about Kyle, but Raquel hasn’t been able to get in touch with her. Kyle is on a “date” with Emmy and finds out that back in the day Olivia used to do Oscar’s bidding… and that they pretty much killed Mia and covered it up.
Lionel takes a pregnancy test and guess what, she’s pregnant. Emmy/Thomas calls Oscar to thank him for sending him “that Girl” but Oscar tells him that he didn’t and Thomas tells him never mind. Oscar asks him if he said anything he shouldn’t have and he insists he didn’t before hanging up.
Sloane meets with Kyle and Raquel to tell them that Michale was coming to get the evidence. Kyle tells them about Emmy and Olivia and gives her recording of the conversation (with Kyle conveniently edited out). The recording reveals that they pretty much covered up Mia’s death and that Oscar could have killed Olivia since she knew about Emmy.
Derek goes to Jude’s house and Jude tells him that Chase is out and they need alibis. They agree to be each others alibi before Jude rushes him out after realizing that Zero is in his bathroom. Zero obviously overhearing their conversation calls up Kendall (of course they’re working together) and meets with her to tell her that there’s trouble on the Devils playground.
In the locker room Jelena and Ahsha confront each other and Ahsha tells her that she’s got an entire book of dances sitting on her mother’s desk. She then tells her that she used to think that she couldn’t do what Jelena did but now she realizes she can.
Sloane is preparing to leave when Oscar walks in to talk about Kyle’s whereabouts. She steers him out of her office leaving behind the evidence she has on him and tells him that Kyle had been out with some of the girls celebrating. Jelena goes to Sloane’s office to get the book of dances Ahsha made up and sees the envelope. She goes through it and realizes that it’s evidence that Sloane has on Oscar.
Some takeaways…
– Just when I was kind of liking Jelena she goes and does this. I knw everything was linig up too easily. I really want someone (I’m talking to you Ahsha) to take Jelena down.
– If anyone can surpass Jelena on my dislike list it’s Zero. He is so conniving and grrrrrr! Between him and Jelena they are making for some drama-filled episodes.
– There are too many secrets! Olivia was like the secrets gate keeper when she had some dirty secrets herself. I’m pretty sure I predicted early on that Oscar had something to do with her death. In light of recent revelations I’m going to have to stick with that prediction.
