SPOILER ALERT! (stop reading if you don’t want to know what happens in this episode)
So did anyone see Olivia’s killer coming… anyone. So I’m not alone, okay great. Let’s get into this finale episode recap!
Pete confronts Sloane about Oscar and tells her that he wants to help her bring him after Lionel spilled the beans and told him that Sloane is trying to take down Oscar.
The detective pays Jude a visit to question him about his whereabouts the night of Olivia’s death. He lies and says he snuck into the arena to spend some alone time. The detective then pays Jelena a visit and she tells him that she was asleep alone that night and that she wants whoever did it caught and to pay.
Ahsha and German talk about the encounter the previous night and what it means. He tells her that he wants to make things work but only if she’s 100% in it. He asks her to think about it.
Jelena tries to intimidate Ahsha and tells her she should dance every game like it’s her last. She tells her that she pretty much does thanks to her and that Jelena should take her own advice.
Everyone starts getting invitations to Lionel and Oscar’s wedding. Sloane is convinced that Lionel has her evidence and wants to go to the wedding since it’s at Oscar’s house to try to recover it. Pete won’t let her go alone so he decides to help her.
Everyone shows up at Oscar’s house for his wedding. Derek tells Oscar that Kyle tried to get him to do cocaine on camera and that she needs to go (which was all apart of his and. Kyle’s plan). She tells him that she covered for him with the detective and they realize that their alibis were slightly different.
Pete confronts Lionel as she’s getting ready for the wedding distracting her so Sloane could find her evidence. She finds the hard drive and leaves just before Lionel exits.
Lionel walks toward the alter as Jude tries to convince her that she’s making a mistake. She tells. Oscar that she didn’t have time to sign the prenup and he asks her if she knows what she’s getting herself into and she tells him that she does.
Sloane goes to hand over the hard drive to a detective that. Michael told her she can trust not knowing that Oscar’s inside guy oversees.
The Devil Girls perform for the final time during the season at the last round of the finals. The game is close and Derek passes it to Terrence who goes for a layup and comes down wrong breaking his leg and having the bone go straight through the skin. Jelena tries to go with him to the hospital but he tells her to stay to tell him what the outcome is.
There are seconds left in the game and Derek has the ball. Zero is open but Derek takes the winning shit for himself and they win. Everyone runs out to the court to celebrate. Amidst celebrations the police show up and arrest Oscar for the murder of Mia. He finds out from his inside guy that Sloane is the one who turned the evidence in and tells her that she has no idea what she’s done.
Sloane wants to know how he found out she turned the evidence in and the person she gave it to tells her that he doesn’t know but that Oscar is going to jail and she’ll be protected. She tells him there’s no such thing as protection from Oscar.
Kyle is glad that Oscar has been arrested so that she doesn’t have to leave but Raquel is still upset about her illegal situation. Kyle decides to help her out and asks her to marry her and she agrees.
Acting as Oscar’s proxy, Lionel meets with Sloane and tells her that she pretty much set her up to take the blame for Oscar being in jail. Lionel wants to keep Sloane around even though Sloane wants to quit. She tells her that if she quits something bad could possibly happen to her but if she stays employed she’s protected. She tells her to thank Jelena for allowing her to stick around and that of course there’s a price.
Zero is upset that he’s second fiddle to Derek. He thinks that Jude is upset about a girl from the wedding and tells him that he doesn’t do relationships. Jude tells him that he wants a relationship with him but he believes he’s afraid to be with him. He tells him that he’s mad at the entire situation and that he’s done being other people’s percentages and he won’t be his agent anymore. Zero breaks down and tells him his real name, Gideon. Jude tells him that he’d like to take Gideon out on a real, public date and when he’s ready for that to give him a call.
Ahsha goes to talk to Sloane about everything that happened but she stops her and tells her that she has to do something very horrible since there are now other people in charge. She tells her that she’s fired; this was obviously Jelena’s doing. Ahsha leaves and Lionel is in the hall and texts Jelena that it’s done.
Sloane gets news that they plan to go after Oscar for Olivia’s murder. Meanwhile, Derek believes that he and his mother are going to have a dinner for just the two of them. That’s quickly crushed when he realizes he’s just there so she can make money off him and it was actually a business/pitch meeting. He tells her that he’s not allowing it anymore, he gave up a good girl who he thought he didn’t deserve when he shouldn’t have and that he’s done with her.
He goes to Sloane’s house to talk to Ahsha but she’s not there. He tells Sloane (and Pete) that he’s going to fight for her and she tells him that she won’t get in his way.
We finally find out who killed Olivia… German! Like seriously I did not see that coming. I knew it was going to be someone we weren’t expecting. We find out that Ahsha also got a letter from Olivia but German intercepted it since he was still receiving her mail. He’s the one who pushed her over the bannister. We end with him and Ahsha reuniting and walking off together.
Some takeaways…
– I had a strong inkling that the killer was going to be someone we weren’t expecting, but German??! I’m still in shock. You got us James LaRosa, you got us. Now we have to wait an entire year…
