SPOILER ALERT! (stop reading if you don’t want to know what happens in this episode)
Oh what a tangled web we’ve woven… or at least Emily has. Even bystanders are getting hurt in this game and it’s all in the recap below!
We open with David walking the beach and Emily watching him while having flashbacks from when she was a little girl. Charlotte wakes up after her romp with the stranger, Vince, who lets her know that she’s bait for someone he’s been after for a long time. She tries to take him down but they end up in a struggle over a gun. He grabs her from behind and she pushes off the wall and they fall back. Vince hits his head on the edge of a step and dies instantly.
Victoria meets David at his beach house and after hearing him talking about his night there she lies about keeping the place and reminiscences about what they life would’ve been like together. She then asks him if he’s sure about the interview and he tells her he is because he believes he’s being betrayed.
Emily has Nolan hack into David’s case to view his interview after escaping his imprisonment. Emily has a gut feeling that something is missing from David’s story but Nolan thinks she’s just looking for an easier answer and doesn’t want to accept what really happened to David.
Daniel is in Page Six thank to Louise Ellis but he and Margaux brush it off. Victoria shows up looking for Margaux to talk about David when she notices the article about Daniel. She tells him that Louise Ellis is cray and reveals that she had really been in a psychiatric ward and that she had been her roommate so he should steer clear.
The officer who was connected to Conrad died of a hear attack and Ben wants to investigate it. He’s quickly shut down and Jack finds out that he had been investigating him. He tells him he needs to stop because what he does reflects on him.
Charlotte calls Emily to help her with Vince and Emily tells her that he was the one who tried to run David down and that he was one of the last fanatics apart of the case. She hands her a pair of gloves and tells her to help her stage how he died.
David shows up at Nolan’s house to invite him to the interview after confirming that the person he believed David shouldn’t trust is Victoria. Meanwhile, Victoria meets with Louise Ellis to find out what her intentions with Daniel are. She warns her that if they’re not good she’ll find out how protective a mother can be. She leaves to go meet with Margaux after telling her they shouldn’t see each other again.
Victoria meets with Margaux to make sure that if anything goes wrong during David’s interview she’ll pull the plug. Margaux believes whatever he has to say is bigger than what she first expected and tells her not to interfere with her work; revealing that she told the same thing to Nolan.
While going over Charlotte’s story, Charlotte starts acting a little ungrateful after Emily reveals that she won’t reveal who she really is to their father. Charlotte believes she’s just ashamed of what she’s done but she tells her that she hasn’t killed anyone. She tells Charlotte that she only called her because she wanted Emily to save her but she can’t save her anymore, she has to save herself. While putting the drugs in Vince’s body Charlotte asks about Aiden and Emily tells her that she didn’t kill him, Victoria did.
Louise Ellis shows up at the tennis court where Margaux and Daniel are. Margaux leaves and Daniel confronts her about not telling him about being his mother’s roommate in the psychiatric ward. She tells him that what she’s doing has nothing to do with him.
During his interview David calls Nolan out to join him and Victoria tries to stop it but Margaux refuses. He accuses Nolan of stealing Amanda’s money and Nolan tells him that this isn’t the place. He tells the audience that Nolan betrayed him while Amanda worked as a stripper and he’ll never forgive him for that. Distraught, Nolan leaves the interview without answering the interviewer’s question or responding to the allegations.
Charlotte asks Victoria to stop by and tells her goodbye because she’s checking into rehab. She reveals that she’s doing it to get away from her. She also tells her that David deserves to know about Emily but she’s not going to stick around to be apart of her lie. She tells her that she knows she killed Aiden and Charlotte tells her that she’s not going to be caught in the middle of her and Emily anymore.
David shows up at Nolan’s house to confront him about stealing from Amanda. Nolan tries to convince him that he didn’t steal from her but David won’t listen and punches him in the face. Emily shows up just as David is leaving and asks him what happened. He tells her that his lies have finally caught up to him.
Jack finds Ben snooping around the deceased officer’s garage. He convinces Jack that something about his death isn’t right. They find an etching of the infinity symbol and Jack tells him that he’s going to help him with the investigation. Charlotte stops to see Daniel before leaving and tells him something in relation to Emily because she doesn’t want to leave on a lie.
Some takeaways…
– Next week, dare I say it, Emily and David finally come face to face! I cannot wait for this episode. If he doesn’t realize that she’s his daughter then I’m done for real, fore real because there is no way that a parent wouldn’t recognize their child.
– I’m kind of not liking David right now. I don’t quite know exactly where the writers are trying to go… I think I do but there is no way that they can say he had anything to do with that flight going down. Everything he did after that I’ll buy, but that I won’t.
– I’m glad Charlotte is gone. Sorry but I am, she was getting on my nerves. I’m also glad that she stood up to Victoria and I believe she told Daniel that Emily is really David’s daughter. Now that will be interesting since I’ve read that Daniel and Emily’s relationship is supposed to get interesting and they haven’t really done much together this season so far.
– Poor Nolan. I feel like the ultimate loser in all of this is Nolan. I’m 100% with him wanting Emily to tell David who she really is, because the longer she waits the more bystanders get hurt. Either way, I don’t want anything to jeopardize his relationship with Emily because I honestly believe they are sincere friends/family.
– I won’t bother with how much I still hate the Louise Ellis storyline, it’s pretty much desperation at this point. I’m also still trying to figure out how I feel about Ben and his noisy behind… which I guess would be a good thing if he’s trying to be a detective.
Do you think David will recognize that Emily is really Amanda and is Nolan the real loser in all of this? Let me know in the comments!
