We start off six months prior during Slade’s Mirakuru soldier take down with Oliver, Felicity and Diggle in the van. We see Oliver stop a Mirukuru soldier and Cupid is on the sidelines and she picks up the arrow in fascination. Back in the present Detective Lance and Arrow are at Isaac’s dead body staged as the Arrow and Quentin believes whoever killed him is trying to get his attention.
Felicity walks in on Ray doing salmon ladders shirtless in his office. Obviously flustered, Ray asks her if she’s free to accompany on a business trip pulling out a dress that he purchased just for the occasion. Felicity agrees to go only because she really ants to wear this couture dress.
Oliver updates Diggle on the mystery archer and wants him to contact Felicity but she’s at a press conference with Ray who announces that Queens Consolidated is now Palmer Technologies. Upset, Oliver hammers the arrow head breaking it and revealing a small note with an address. He and Diggle go to the address and which is an apartment filled with candles, newspaper clippings and heart shaped arrowhead arrows. He gets a call from Cupid who asks him who’s taking care of him and that she plans to to fight and kill for him sending a picture of a guy she captured and tells Oliver that he has a limited amount of time to save him.
Oliver Meet Crazy Cupid
Oliver returns to the lair to find Roy reading old news stories about the cop he killed while on Mirakuru and Oliver tells him not to blame himself because he wasn’t himself. Roy feels like he’s being a fraud whenever he puts on his mask and then their interrupted by Felicity with more information on the guy that Cupid is holding hostage. Oliver wants her 100% focused on the task at hand and she ensures him that she is– except for that night because of her dinner with Ray. She asks him if it’s okay and he tells her to do what she wants.
Felicity finds out that Cupid is a former police officer and that she’s been stalking him. She’s also apart of a gardening club and Felicity ties the fertilizer in the picture of the captured man to a possible green house. Oliver and Roy go to the green house and Roy comes face to face with Cupid. Oliver tries to get in contact with Roy but Cupid has his ear piece and taunts Oliver. He tells her that she’s not well and she pretty much tells him she’s in love with him. Oliver finds her holding a cupcake with a candle, Roy passed out on the ground and her hostage is in a noose. Oliver asks her what she wants and she tells him she wants him. He tells her that it won’t happen and she knocks the chair out from under the guy before throwing down the cupcake bomb and escaping. Oliver shoots an arrow cutting him down and throws the cupcake in the air shooting an arrow to set the bomb off.
Back at the lair Roy is pissed because Cupid took him out and is taking it out on the punching tower. Oliver tells him to go home and Diggle tells Oliver that he isn’t the first person she stalked. She was sent to a psychologist and she quit the force. Oliver decides to go talk to the psychologist after telling Diggle he was fine with Felicity spending so much time with Ray.
Diggle pays Felicity a visit at the office and tells her that the thing with her and Palmer is messing with his head and that’s dangerous. She tells him that there’s nothing between them, but if Oliver has a problem with it he should tell her himself. Felicity shows up in the couture dress for the dinner and Ray has a multimillion dollar necklace for her to wear which she’s hesitant to accept.
Tatsu has had it with Oliver and wants him to clean up after himself while Maseo has been called away on assignment by Waller. Later that evening, Maseo hasn’t returned and Tatsu is worried. Oliver tells her that he’ll go down to the dock to check it out but she tells him that she will go. They both go to the dock to see if they can find out where Maseo is. In the car, Oliver finds out that they left Japan because the upset some very powerful men. A group of men show up on the dock and Oliver gets out to find out if they know what happened to Maseo. Of course he gets knocked out by one of the men. Tatsu saves him and holds a sword to one of the guy’s necks and he tells her that all of the men who showed up were killed by China White, including Maseo. Oliver and Tatsu return to the apartment and Tatsu doesn’t know how to tell her son her father is dead. When she opens the door Maseo is there and tells them that Waller had them in lock down because three agents had been killed.
A One Guy Type of Girl
Oliver asks the psychologist about information on Carrie (Cupid) but she claims client-patient confidentiality. He tells her about her killing people and she tells him that she craving attention and will push everyone away and focus on one person. She tells him to give her what she wants but she’ll know if he’s lying. She then tells him that he should seek some professional help himself– burn.
Cupid’s tech guy has tracked down the vicinity of where Arrow possibly hangs low which comes up as Verdant, Thea’s nightclub. He then asks her about upholding her promise of pleasure and she stabs him in the neck with an arrow telling him she’s spoken for. Quentin calls Arrow to tell him about Carrie’s latest victim and Oliver tells Diggle that they need Felicity there. Diggle tells him that he just doesn’t want her near Ray. Oliver tells him that he’s upset because she’s just moved on with her life while he hasn’t and he just wants her to be happy. Diggle tells him that if he did he would be with her.
Felicity and Ray have just arrived at the dinner when she gets a text from Diggle telling her they need help. At Verdant, Carrie casually walks in unnoticed while Thea is dealing with a DJ issue. She fires the current DJ onsite and the guy who shut down her auditions earlier shows up to save the night. Back at the dinner Felicity takes over the dinner and speaks very highly of Ray swaying the associate’s opinion of him. Meanwhile, Oliver calls Carrie and tells her that he will meet her anywhere she wants to meet. She tells him where and that if he plays her she will kill everyone in the club.
She has him meet her where he saved her from the Mirakuru soldier. She shows up as Diggle and Felicity are listening in from the lair. Oliver tells her that he talked to her psychologist and she calls her crazy. She tells him that she’s in love with him but he tells her he’s not the man she thinks he is. She goes to reach for him and he tells her that he can’t be with her or anyone and goes into a heartfelt speech that was really intended for Felicity. Cupid is pissed and goes to shoot him with an arrow. He knocks the bow out of her hand and they fight. She knocks down a gate and they fall underground where she handcuffs him to the train track ready to commit a murder suicide. Oliver dislocates his wrist to get out of the cuffs and pulls her out of the way in literal seconds before they were hit by the oncoming train. After saving her she tells him that she knew he loved her… I can’t.
Oliver decides to hand Carrie over to Waller to join the Suicide Squad because he doesn’t think Iron Heights is good for her. Diggle tells Oliver that Felicity heard his speech but he has to tell Felicity how he feels before it’s too late.
Felicity is back at Palmer Technologies and Ray tells her that the guy is going to sell. He goes to take off the necklace and they end up kissing when Oliver walks in and sees them. Not noticing him leave, Ray stops and tells her that he wanted to keep things platonic before leaving. Oliver returns to the lair and throws things off the table and Roy comes out of the shadows. They both aren’t feeling that great so they go to Diggle’s where Lyla has cooked dinner.
Ray is in his office looking at blueprints for what could possibly be his suit– I mean it is named A.T.O.M. We end with some guy walking down an alley and a man shows up and kills him with a boomerang sword meaning we’re going to see Oliver face Captain Boomerang.
Some takeaways…
– I was the most excited about Thea’s arc this season and I feel like she’s just been chilling on the back burner. I’m nowhere near interested in a love interest for her at the moment, I mean if she’s not going to be Roy let her develop into the awesomeness that I know she will eventually be. Can we please get some Thea action.
– The next episode is The Flash vs Arrow and I’m am beyond excited about this. I’m not going to make any predictions just know that I’m contemplating recapping both episodes since they will tie into each other. We’ll see. We’re off next week for the Thanksgiving but we return the following week with the crossover episode.
