It’s all led up to this! The biggest award night and a slew of gorgeous fashion it was really hard to just leave people off my picks. There are a few more Honorable Mentions than usual but every look is totally worth it. The theme of the night was embellishments and embellished they were. So who my Oscars Top Picks and Honorable Mentions are below!
Top Picks!
Lupita Nyong’o in Calvin Klein. She was literally dripping in pearls (6,000 to be exact). This was definitely the night’s carpet stealer hands down!
Jennifer Lopez in Elie Saab Couture. JLo hasn’t had a princess moment in a while and this look was well worth the wait. Some people had an issue with the color but I think it makes her look like she’s floating on fabulousness!
Julianne Moore in Chanel. This look was a mix of vintage luxe and there’s no denying that Julianne looked amazing!
Jennifer Aniston in Versace. What I love about this look, about many of Jennifer’s red carpet looks, is that she just looks effortless. The dress is gorgeous, the hair works, minimal jewelry… it just works!
Rosamund Pike in Givenchy. This was my favorite red look of the night. The hair works, I love the neckline (and I’m not a big strapless fan) and the matching shoes work too!
Honorable Mentions
Reese Witherspoon in Tom Ford. This was like subtle Old Hollywood at its finest! I’m one for a black and white combo anyday.
Margot Robbie in Saint Laurent and Van Cleef & Arpels necklace. Everyone was talking about the necklace but I really love this entire look. The sheer sleeves, the stunning necklace and that plunging neckline all works!
Emma Stone in Elie Saab Couture. No one, and I mean no one else, could’ve pulled this color off. She looked gorgeous in chartreuse and I would totally wear this (in another color)!
Zoe Saldana in Versace. This woman just had twins and she looks freaking amazing! I love the silhouette and the accessories work beautifully with this look.
Rita Ora in Marchesa. I love the detailing on this dress, I love the neckline and her hair cut is divine. Gorgeous look all around!
Kerry Washington in Miu Miu. This was a little more subtle than Kerry’s previous looks but I still really liked it. I like the texture combo and the minimal accessories (as usual).
Anna Kendrick in Thakoon. I loved this color on her. It’s simple but elegant and one of her best red carpet looks of the season.
