Oh hey! It’s been a minute since I’ve updated you guys on my fitness journey and even done a fitness post in general. It’s actually been a pretty chill month since I last checked in.
March was like the month of work events which totally side railed some of my workout days. I’ve noticed that when I don’t workout I get very grumpy, especially if I miss yoga. I thankfully take a Saturday yoga class so I was able to keep up with that day. Other than that, I’ve been doing a lot of walking because it seamed like that was the only way I’d be able to squeeze in some exercise. I did get back to UJam last night and it was amazing. This has become my favorite cardio class.
Going into April my workout routine will most likely shift a little due to work changes. Once I know for sure what will work with my new schedule I’ll include it in my next update. I went to LA over the weekend and was only there for 24 hours but I absolutely had to hike Runyon Canyon before heading back home. It was no joke. First of all, I wasn’t really expecting there to be soooo many people there. I went with my cousin and it took us 20-30 minutes to find a parking spot and where we ended up parking we still had a little bit of a walk. Once we got to the trail it started off okay and then we hit these steps that were on a sharp incline and boy oh boy. I had a lot of fun but my body definitely felt it for like three days following. I did realize from all of this that I should be hiking more, especially since I’ve heard that there are some good hiking trails in Oakland. That will probably become apart of my Saturday routine.

Food wise, I’ve been doing really good. While in LA I didn’t get to try any vegan spots on my to try list but I did get to eat of one of my favorite vegan chains, Native Foods Cafe. I tried something new and went with the crispy chicken, bacon and avo sandwich. It was so good– I literally scarfed it down. On another note, I’ve been eating a lot of mushrooms… a lot. I don’t think I could ever get sick of them. I’ve also been eating a lot of brussels sprouts. My go-to recipe is roasting them with mushrooms and a little olive oil and combining it with pasta. It’s so good.
As always you can stay up to date with all of my fitness updates by following me on Instagram. Also, Wanderlust is doing their Wanderlust 108 tour and I plan to attend when they stop by San Francisco. You can see when they’re stopping by a city near you here.
