SPOILER ALERT! (stop reading if you don’t want to know what happens in this episode)
We’re back!! It seems like it’s been forever but the Devil Girls are back and I have a feeling that this season is going to be so messy. It’s four months later and I’ve got the recap below!
Zero has multiple new endorsements including his own underwear line and he tries to get Jude to sign on as his agent. Jude doesn’t say yes or no leaving him to believe that he’s considering it.
Jelena goes to Lionell to discuss her marketing plans for the new season which includes Terrance being front and center. Lionell quickly shuts her down telling her that he’s a risk and she’s not going to be her puppet master. Jelena doesn’t quite agree but she tells her their even since she’s the one who got rid of Ahsha. Jelena goes to Sloane and tells her that Pete needs to intervene but she tells her that she’s not out of control just out of her control.
Derek stops by Pete’s office and finds German offering him a cigar. He tries to get info from him about Ahsha but German tells him she’s fine and she won’t be back because she’s moved on. Raquel vents to Jelena about all of the changes Lionell has been making and asks her how tryouts are going. Jelena suggests she tryout but she tells her that those days are behind her. At the next round of tryouts Raquel shows up and the girls battle it out for a spot on the team.
Terrence goes and talks to Pete about his place on the team since he feels Lionell could drop him. He asks him to talk to her but Pete tells him it could only make things worse. Terrence leaves and overhears Zero boasting about how he would be a good captain and he confronts him telling him he’d never let that happen.
Lionell offers Jude the job as Executive Vice President of Business Operations which he asks her if he can think about because he has another offer from Zero. Sloane goes to Adam and tells him that if the league wants her on their side they need to force a sell of the Devils to get the Kincades out of the arena for good.
Raquel makes the team but Kyle is a little hesitant since they live together and will now be working together. At the opening ceremony Derek tells Lionell that he’s not signing a new deal until he sees one that he believes fits his worth. He leaves to go watch the Devil Girls perform and the new team is introduced for the first time. After their performance the girls present the players with their rings. Afterwards Jude tells Zero that he can’t accept his offer because Lionell offered him a better one.
Terrence decides it’s the perfect moment to propose to Jelena using his championship ring to do it and she accepts. Derek sees Ahsha and tells her that he thought she would fight to get her spot back. He then tells her that he’s going to fight for her, he still loves her and when she’s ready she can come sit beside him.
Lionell tells Jude about Derek not signing the deal but he tells her that he contractually can’t go anywhere. He then tells her that he accepts the EVP position and the toasts to the Kincades taking over. Raquel and Kyle decide that they just might be able to get through living and working together. Some guy, Teddy, comes speeding up and tells Kyle that her life story is going to be made into a movie and she’s going to be famous.
Terrence and Jelena confront Lionell about the fans cheering for him but she tells them that she’s not going to do anything because of fans or threats. She tells them they don’t want to make a enemy of her and they need to figure out a way to deal with the consequences of the decisions they made.
German tries to cheer Ahsha up but she tells him that she didn’t book the commercial but she didn’t try; her heart is with the Devil Girls. She tells him that she could’ve fought to try out but she didn’t because her entire career was built on a lie. She tells him that she asked Olivia to fix the all-star vote so that Jelena could lose for once and if people found out she could be banned from the league.
Terrence and Jelena invite Adam to dinner to talk solutions to the Devils problem. They tell him they want to buy the devils and will do whatever it takes to do it.
German wakes up from a nightmare waking Ahsha in the process. He tells her that everything is okay but she asks him why he was screaming out Olivia’s name.
Some takeaways…
- Oh to get away with murder. It looks like German is going to break and from the previews he might just tell Ahsha what he did. Either way, I feel like he’s going to bottle up his feeling and then we’re going to get a huge blow up. I can’t wait.
- Derek is doing a whole lot to try to get Ahsha back. It’s nice that he wants to fight for Ahsha but he’s a little too cocky with it. I’m kind of getting a sober season 1 Derek, if that makes sense.
- I’m not the biggest Jelena fan but I do like her and Terrence together. I like that they’re making moves together this season and I’m excited to see how that plays out this season. Although, those two owning the Devils is probably not a good idea.
- Still not feeling Lionell but I do feel like we’re going to get a feistier Jude this season. Could he become Oscar 2.0? I mean, it is in his DNA.
