THE NEW LION KING
The Lion King was probably one of the most anticipated Disney remakes of the summer and boy did it drop with a roar. Starring Donald Glover, Beyoncé, James Earl Jones and so many more I definitely felt all of the nostalgic feels.
While this got mixed reviews from both the critics and audience it did ultimately work for me. One of the biggest complaints was the emotion or lack thereof from the animals. While this is noticeable I feel like it’s portrayed in their actions and movements.
This was like watching a real life Nat Geo documentary on the life of a shunned prince and I was here for every second of it. was in love with everything about the look and feel of this. The acting across the board was pretty solid.
Of course Timon and Pumba brought the laughs and was fun to see in this more realistic way. Also the music! Still the faves you grew up on but with a slight adjustment.
FINAL THOUGHTS…
Overall this was definitely a great redo of the classic. I’d definitely take kids to see this and would totally watch this again. What did you think of this live action Lion King? Let me know on Instagram and Twitter!
